Say hi to Bloop.
A soft little blob you can talk to, by text or voice, for the anxious, restless and lonely moments that don’t fit anywhere else.
This page is the introduction. The chat happens in the app.

Anxiety and loneliness are common, and often carried quietly.
These aren’t rare problems. Millions of people feel them every year, and many don’t tell anyone.
of US adults had an anxiety disorder in the past year.
NIMHof US adults will experience one at some point in their lives.
NIMHpeople worldwide are affected by loneliness, most often teens and young adults.
WHO Commission on Social Connection, 2025US adults report experiencing loneliness.
US Surgeon General’s advisory, 2023The two often travel together
The WHO defines loneliness as the painful feeling of a gap between the connection you want and the connection you have. Its Commission links loneliness to higher risk of depression and anxiety, and estimates it is tied to around 871,000 deaths a year worldwide.
The Surgeon General’s advisory found that people spend far less time with friends than they used to, about 20 minutes a day in person in 2020 compared with roughly 60 earlier this century, and that young adults aged 15 to 24 are among the hardest hit.
Anxiety also starts early. NIMH data show past-year anxiety disorders at about 22% for adults aged 18 to 44.
Why a companion can help
Researchers at Harvard Business School, Wharton and Bilkent University studied AI companions in controlled experiments.
- It made a measurable difference. Chatting with an AI companion lowered loneliness by about as much as talking with a person, while watching YouTube did not.
- Feeling heard mattered most. The more people felt listened to, the more their loneliness eased.
- Always available. A person isn’t always around at 2 a.m. An app can be.
Honest limits: these studies measured short-term effects over a day or a week, and the benefits were modest. They weren’t about Bloop specifically. The WHO also urges that technology should strengthen human connection, not replace it. Bloop is meant to sit alongside the people in your life.

Calm corner
Breathing, grounding and a gentle bubbles game for when words feel like too much.
Small things that can help you feel steadier.
Pick whatever feels right, and stop any time. Sometimes talking isn’t what you need, so the Calm corner gives you something else to do with your attention and your breath. Try the previews below.
The Calm corner is a set of self-help tools for everyday stress. It isn’t a treatment for anxiety or any other condition. If you need more, the app has an “I need more support” button.
Three steps, no pressure.

Bloop is AI
It isn’t a person or a therapist, and because replies are generated by AI, it can sometimes get things wrong.
Support when you need more
Bloop doesn’t replace support from a professional. The “I need more support” button is always in the Calm corner.
In crisis or in danger? In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 in an emergency. Elsewhere, contact your local emergency number or crisis line.
