Terms of Use
Last updated: October 30, 2026
1. Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] (“Bloop,” “we,” “us”) covering the Bloop app and website. By using Bloop you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Bloop.
2. What Bloop is, and isn’t
- Bloop is an AI companion for everyday moments, not a person.
- Bloop is not a therapist, doctor, or medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition or give medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
- The Calm corner (breathing, grounding, bubbles) offers general self-help activities for everyday stress. It is not treatment.
- Bloop doesn’t replace support from a professional.
3. Emergencies
Bloop is not an emergency service. It can’t call for help or know where you are. If you or someone else is in danger, or you’re thinking about harming yourself, call 911 or your local emergency number right away. In the US you can also call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Outside the US, contact your local crisis line.
4. Who can use Bloop
You must be at least [13 / 16 / 18] years old, or the minimum age in your country, to use Bloop. If you’re under 18, use Bloop only with a parent or guardian’s permission [confirm with your lawyer]. You must use Bloop only as allowed by law.
5. Using Bloop responsibly
You agree not to:
- break the law or help anyone else do so;
- use Bloop to harass, threaten, or harm others, or to create content that sexualizes minors or promotes violence or self-harm;
- try to break, overload, or bypass Bloop’s safety features, or access it in unauthorized ways;
- copy, reverse engineer, or resell the app, except where the law allows;
- pretend to be someone else or misuse Bloop’s name or branding.
6. Your content
You own what you write or say to Bloop. You give us a limited license to process it, including sending it to our AI and service providers, only to run, secure, and improve Bloop as described in the Privacy Policy. You’re responsible for what you share, so please don’t share other people’s private information.
7. AI replies can be wrong
Bloop’s replies are generated by AI. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, or not right for your situation. Don’t rely on Bloop for important decisions, and check anything that matters with a qualified professional. You’re responsible for how you use the replies.
8. Our property
Bloop, its character, design, text, software, and branding belong to [Company legal name] or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial use under these Terms.
9. Apple terms
Bloop is distributed through the Apple App Store. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Bloop, isn’t responsible for any claims about it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms, with the right to enforce them against you. You confirm you’re not in a country subject to a US embargo or on a US list of prohibited parties.
10. Free use and future paid features
Bloop is currently free [confirm]. If we add paid features, we’ll explain the price, billing, and cancellation rules before you buy, and Apple’s payment terms will apply to purchases made through the App Store.
11. Disclaimers
Bloop is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suited to your needs, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
12. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Bloop. Our total liability for any claim is limited to [the greater of the amount you paid us in the last 12 months or US$100]. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, and some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using Bloop at any time and delete the app and your chats. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we need to protect people or the service. Sections that should survive ending your use, such as our property, disclaimers, and liability limits, will.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [state/country], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts of [county/state/country] [or by arbitration, if you choose that with your lawyer]. If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, you also keep the protections of your local consumer laws.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If the changes are significant, we’ll tell you in the app or on this page before they take effect. If you keep using Bloop after that, you accept the new Terms.
